While still in school, she was selected as a winner in a national songwriting competition and was flown to Sydney to record her original song, ‘It’s What’s Within’ at Albert Studios. The song was included on the ‘Enriching Australia’ album with Kate Ceberano and other celebrated Australian artists. Since then, Nicole has taken to the stage to open for touring artists including The Screaming Jets, Bic Runga, Shawn Mullins, Jeff Lang, Russell Morris, and has performed on national television as backing vocalist for Christine Anu. Her performance of the Australian National Anthem at the Drag Racing Nationals saw Nicole receive a standing ovation from an audience of 35,000. Nicole and her band GRANDHOUR won 'Best Rock Artist' at the 2016 Australian Independent Music Awards with their self-recorded, self-produced album ‘Bombs & Bullets’ - all songs written by Nicole. Twelve months later, while recording the band’s sophomore album, Nicole made the hardest decision of her life and walked away from everything she had been working so hard towards.
