Nicole's passion for songwriting began early in life. While in school, she was selected as a winner in a national songwriting competition and was flown to Sydney to record her original song, ‘It’s What’s Within’ at Albert Studios. The song was included on the ‘Enriching Australia’ album with Kate Ceberano and other celebrated Australian artists. Since then, Nicole has taken to the stage to support touring artists including Bic Runga, Shawn Mullins, Australian blues legend Russell Morris, and has performed on national television as backing vocalist for Christine Anu. Her performance of the National Anthem at the Drag Racing Nationals saw Nicole receive a standing ovation from an audience of 35,000 people. This song was my grieving, an outpouring of all the emotions that hit me, pulling me under.’ Recording began in 2019 with producer Voya Milutinovic but was shelved for nearly 5 years due to lockdowns, moving cross-country, and the search for the right ‘sound’ to match the heavy emotion of the song.
