Australian independent artist Nicole Nighthawk unveils a monumental new love song “Written in the Stars”. 

It’s the third single from Nighthawk after launching her solo career in 2023. Five years after departing her band Grandhour, winner of Best Rock Artist at the Australian Independent Music Awards 2016, Nicole returned to music with her dark-pop single “No Tomorrow", described by Australian Musician Magazine as “an impressive debut from a multi-talented artist." Her follow-up single “Going Under”, a heavy-hitting, alt-rock track, captured the feeling of despair as you navigate grief and the long and often lonely road to healing. 

As Nighthawk’s chapter closes on a story of heartbreak and loss, “Written in the Stars” is the result of a new life and new love for the singer-songwriter. 

Nicole shares, “Written in the Stars was composed as a wedding gift for my wife. What started as an acoustic ballad played to my love in front of our nearest and dearest, has become a crowd favourite at live performances and is often chosen by couples for their first dance on their wedding day.”

The studio production features an intimate intro that retains the essence of the original acoustic version, before building to a bold orchestral crescendo. A beautiful, iconic soundtrack to a true love story. 

The music video uses real-life footage of couples. Nicole explains, “I wanted to celebrate genuine love, so I collaborated with couples and their wedding videographers who were willing to share their treasured moments. I love that I was able to do this instead of using actors for the video, it makes it that little bit more special.”

“Written in the Stars” is available on all major streaming platforms from September 24th 2025 with the music video dropping September 30th 2025.
